Well fall has officially decended upon Camp Lejuene. We had a week of rain from hurricane Nicole, flooding was crazy. Its actually nice to not have to blast the AC. The trees are starting to turn colors. I absolutely love fall, all of the colors are beautiful. Em is getting so big, she turned 9 months on friday, :( I can't believe its been almost a year since she came into our lives. Shes such a good baby and shes doing new things almost everyday. Shes been crawling for awhile and shes pulling up on everything. Here are a few pics...I'm excited to put her in her warmer clothes theyre so cute!

I haven't been very good about keeping this updated, so here goes a very long update....

Since the last last post we had a beautiful baby girl on Jan 1, 2010...

Emery Kay Lavery

Dustin left 9 days later for his first deployment to afghanistan......

It was a long and very hard/lonely 7 months but we made it!

Dustin is now on leave and we have been catching up on family time! Emery and I did a lot and a nothing during those 7 months. We shared her first Easter and first 4th of July together. We made two trips back to KC and we made some great friends while daddy was gone. We are so glad he is home safe and sound now! Since being home we have taken Em to the aquarium, went out to eat with friends, went to the beach and just vegged on the couch. Life is pretty great! I will make a couple collages of events while daddy was gone plus some of since hes been home. I'm going to try to be better at updating this.

Some milestones for Emme...

She said "da,da" about a week and half before he came home :)

Her first tooth has broke through and the second is visable.....

She has added "ma, ma" and "ba,ba" to her vocabulary.....

and she is scooting around like crazy, crawling should start at any moment. We are definately basking in these moments! ;)

Went to my doc appointment today. Still pretty anemic...they gave me a handout with foods that have iron in them and I eat almost all of them pretty regularly. Emery's doing great, she kicked the heart monitor when we were listening to her. :) Shes ornery. We also scheduled my 3D sonogram, I'm so excited. I want to see her little face and see who she looks like. :) I'm ready for my baby to come.

We are 24 weeks and 3 days pregnant. Emery is doing great, she kicks a lot. We have been getting stuff ready for her arrival we bought a crib, changer/dresser, and a bookshelf. We have bought clothes of course and have started stocking up on diapers. Grandma has even sent a few packages for the princess. Aunt Shanna even sent Emery a book addressed to her and all, I thought that was pretty cool. I can't wait to get more done but I've had to slow down so I don't do everything now so I have stuff to do later. I have an appointment on thursday and hopefully I can schedule my 3D ultrasound. Getting so excited!

I don't know how Shanna stays on top of this thing. Probably because there would be a riot. :)

Well we've been in North Carolina since June 8th. Its very different here. We are in Jacksonville, its right out side the base. We have been waiting for base housing we're pretty low on the list now so hopefully it wont be much longer. I have been anxiously awaiting the day I can start decorating my place with all the things we've accumulated.

I am as of today 16 wks and 5 days along. I finally have a doctors appointment next week. So hopefully we'll get a lot done. I'm sure I'll be drained. I'm crossing my fingers for a sonogram. Dustin has not heard the heart beat and we're both wondering what he/she is. I have been blessed not to have morning sickness, just a little nausea and definately a changed appetite. I really am not showing still. If I was to put a pic up you wouldnt even know I was pregnant, nice well sorta because you look weird looking at baby stuff with no belly. People probably think "Aww that poor girl she wants a baby really bad!" haha Oh well.

Thats about all thats going on here. We really don't do a whole lot. There are two couples here with us that Dustin went to boot camp with so we hang out with them. We havent been to the beach in awhile. the sand gets a little annoying after a while. Hopefully we'll figure something out!

Well a lot is going on. Dustin just graduated from his job school, he gets ten days off to hang out with fam plus get packed for NC. We are in the process of renting an apt until we can get on base housing. So we are only taking with us the essentials. I will post more when we get there.

We are going to Camp Lejeune North Carolina! Yay!! We had hoped for this base as we have heard great things about it and its a beautiful/wonderful area! So nice. Now the house hunting really begins. We have agreed to try off base(but not too far) for the moment to take advantage of the base housing allowance we receive and to get the most for our money. We are however going to rent as we do not know how long we will be in the area hopefully at least a year! My babys gonna have an accent! lol Probably not since he/she won't be talking, well maybe. :) Please continue to pray for us that we will find a home in our price range that is a good fit for us and our growing family!

We're Having a Baby!!!

I am 5 weeks pregnant with our first child! Dustin and I took a home pregnancy test last saturday when I went to visit him in Fort Leonard Wood! We are so excited. Also Dustin is supposed to getting his orders for our first duty station and unit tonight! I'm nervous to find out our fate, but its in Gods hands! The baby is supposed to be due end of December early January! We're hoping for a Christmas baby though! It would be a great present for us as Dustin and I were unble to spend last Christmas together because he was in bootcamp. My first doctors appointment is next thursday, I'll be almost 6 weeks! :)

Well hello its been a while....

Dustin is on week 4 of his school and he has about 7 weeks left. I have been visiting him off and on on the weekends and a few weekends he's came back to KC. We're anxiously awaiting our orders. His Sergeant says he's 99.9% sure we'll get our number one choice of the east coast, the states that includes would be North Carolina, South Carolina, Virgina, and Georgia. We're hoping for North or South Carolina.

We will be okay with what they give us...Kansas is a little depressing right now, so anything to get us out of here! :)

I've just been working and getting our finances in line for the big move. I'm getting excited...looking for homes and jobs! okay maybe not the job part but hey someone has to do it! ;)

Dustin did get to come home for Easter weekend so it was nice to go to church and hang out with family. He had to get all dressed up in his "deltas." I do have to say he looked pretty nice! Here are some pics....

Not much is going on Dustin is back in San Diego for his combat training. He is supposed to graduate March 10th. His MOS is Engineer Equipment Operator. So he will do his schooling in Fort Leonard Wood, MO for 10 weeks GOD willing his school isn't delayed! All is good and God is faithful. I am here in cold Kansas working my little heart away. :) We are awaiting Dustin 's orders for his first Duty station and when his school will officially start. Hopefully our prayers will be answered and we'll get a place that we can afford and will love! Thank you everyone for your support.

Dustin is officially a Marine! Thank you Lord for keeping him in your hands! Dustin completed the crucible thursday morning. Thank you to everyone who wrote him and those who were unable to write but kept him in your prayers! Thank you God for keeping my husband safe and molding him in to this awesome man, I mean Marine!

The Crucible started today at 4am sharp. Please keep Dustin, Plt 2129 and Fox co in your prayers it will be a long and hard 54hrs. Thank you so much for your prayers and support thus far! We really appreciate it! Dustin has 10 days until graduation and I have 9 days until I see him and 8 days until I leave for California. Pray a safe and eventful, fulfilling trip!

A small update

Well I got a letter from Dustin monday and phone call tuesday.

Letter: He said he's lost approx 30 lbs. :0 and that he had to get all new uniforms because of the weight loss. He also said that his Senior Drill Instructor let 7 recruits know they had noticed their hard work and that they deserved to be Marines. Dustin was one of them. (Thank you GOD for your favor and faithfulness).

Phone call: He will be buying our plane tickets home instead of sending me the money which is ok. He also said that his platoon got 2nd in Final Drill (where they do a lot of hand movements and formations.) He also said they had all passed their tests in Marine Corp Martial Arts.

He sounded really good and it was probably one of the best conversations I have had on the phone with him since he's been gone. It was very lighthearted and he sorta laughed. :) I cannot wait until I see him! 14 going on 13 days!

A few months rolled into a few paragraphs!

Well Dustin left for Marine Corp bootcamp Oct 27th. He was supposed to leave in Jan but they gave him some incentives. :) :( I 'm sad and happy, I'm sad because this has lead to me and my husband being away from each other for now 2 and a half months. Happy because He's becoming such a incredible man they're really toughening him up. He sounds great on the phone. I've got a couple of calls and he says he likes it. He has a great attitude. He only haves 2 and half weeks left, thank God! :) This has been the hardest soon to be 3 months of my life. I am so excited to see him.

A few updates as to his status. He came down with bronchitis then pneumonia the first few weeks but has recovered from that. During what they call Swim week Dustin got Swim Qual 2 which is the highest qualification you can receive. Then during field week when they practice using their rifles Dustin got "expert" which is also the highest you can acheive. I am very excited that God has given him the strength and endurance to complete these tasks. The last accomplishment he has is the "crucible" which is a 52 hour obstacle course, hike, really hard course. He has that in a week and a half.

The holidays were a bit of a blur everything went by pretty fast (mostly because I wished it too) and were a little uneventful and sad because Dustin wasn't here.

It's finished were officially Mr and Mrs Lavery! Our wedding has come and gone. I am very happy with the end product, Thanks to our very supportive family and friends. It was pulled off without a hitch well not totally but as far as anyone could tell. lol The wedding was very nice even though it didn't last that long we were very tired by the end so we left a little earlier than planned but it worked out well.

I am very excited to start this new chapter in our lifes.....

A lot has changed in the last nine months (since my last post). We have changed our wedding date a few times....it is now July 2. So in a little more than two months we will be married. The wedding plans are under way. Everything is pretty much done we just have the small stuff and the last minute stuff left. I'm very excited!

Dustin enlisted in the Marines April 1st, no it was not an April fools joke. He had/has the desire to do something more in his life, he felt like he was in a circle of work to go to school/go to school/take a break to earn more money. So with the military's help he will get 100% tuition pay out. There are more perks like the discipline, structure and experience he will have when he comes out. He hasn't decided whether to make a career out of it or just do it for a while, he will be in for at least 4 years though.

It was a shocked at first but I have been supportive all the way. I think it will be a learning experience for both of us. So in Jan of 2009 Dustin will go to boot camp for 13 weeks, come home for 10 days then go to combat training and his job training for approximately 6 months. Then he will come back for a little while. not sure how long and then we will get based for 3 years.

It will be a very trying time but we are willing to make sacrifices to grow and see where it takes us!

Well I have give my two weeks at Nebraska, I have been offered a job at Heartland Primary Care. I will be a receptionist, taking info, copays you know. The best part is I get to wear scrubs!!! I bought my first pair last night.

Dustin is supposed to be moving out of his parents house this coming week into a townhome with friends.

Canoe trip is in two weeks!!!! yay

Well the summer is almost over and I have nothing accomplished.....well sorta, I am as of monday July 16th done with my psychology class passing with a grade A (crossing my fingers). This week is almost over thank God. In approx. a month we go on our canoe trip! Yay!

I cut my hair two mondays ago, up to my chin. That was fun. Now Dustin went and chopped his off. (he just wants to be like me) hehe.

Soon we're going to World's of fun on Sunday July 29th I think, Hopefully!

But thats about it better get back to work!

so we let verne go, I'm actually really sad right now because I'm not sure I feel ok with it. I cried, and Dustin laughed at me. :(

So far there is nothing going on. We've planned a canoeing trip with some friends in August and I can't wait but I don't want to rush it either because school will start the next week and I'm not even done with summer school. This sunday is Fathers Day, I am not hanging out with my dad since we went down to my dads parents place last sunday for fathers day so we'll have lunch with my parents this sunday after church and then we'll go over to Dustins parents. I'm excited because I'm going to lay by the pool all day and get a nice tan! ;)

Tonight Tim and Christine and Me and Dustin are going to see Fantastic 4. Yay!!!!

Verne and my dilema?!?!

So I'm in a dilema here....We caught a box turtle a few months ago trying to cross over a very busy street. So we kept him, We've had him/her we're really not sure which for about two months. I call her "she," or verne as we named her. Verne is actually a very good turtle I just feel bad because I'm afraid she's going to miss her home and what if she has baby's out there?!?! So I've been debating with myself if we should keep her or let her go. She stays at Dustins and he feeds her most of the time, I just insist she take an occasional walk to get out and about and to go potty soemwhere other than in her tank, which is unsanitary. Dustin thinks I'm crazy! :) But I would feel so bad letting her go not to mention the loneliness of not having a "pet" no I can not cuddle with verne because she will bite me or scratch me so thats out of the question but its nice to take care of something and treat it as if its whole life depends on you(well it kinda does) lol. So I have to think about it. If Dustin wants to get me a puppy (perferably a puggle) then Verne your home free! :)

Hey Guys its been awhile, I kinda forgot about it and then they wouldn't let me log back in so we had to recreate! Here are some updates since the last blog.

Easter came and went pretty uneventful except for Tracey, dustins mom, making Madison dress up like a bunny to search for her easter eggs. Miss Taylor Lavery was born to Shawn and Jayme Lavery, Dustins brother and sister-in-law, May 7th. She's a doll, and she loves her aunt Jami! :) I went to Florida for Matt's graduation that was fun! I got to see Joanna and Matt for the first time in about a year! Dustin went about a week later on a kiaking trip with some old friends and got burnt like a egg! haha

We've mostly have just be relaxing. We just started summer school on June 4th. I'm taking psychology at Kckcc, and he's taking College Algebra and Comp 2 at Jccc. Then I'll be switching back to Jccc in the fall to complete my prequesites for the RN program, and be certified as a CNA.

About a week or so ago we finally decided on a date, its January 24, 2009, we'll be getting married at our church and having the reception else where to eat, boogie, and have cake!

So thats the last the latest in a nutshell!!!
